ACCENTS
Accents. You will notice that all the verbs in the language end in
–ar, -er, or –ir--hablar, comer, vivir meaning to talk, to eat, to live.
The accent falls on the last syllable. This form is called the “infinitive
form” of the verb.
Present Tense. In the present tense, when the verbs are conjugated,
the accent falls back onto the second to last syllable: yo hablo,
yo como, yo vivo (I talk, I eat, I live). This pattern is consistent
throughout the whole language.
